Each estate is different. Some are larger than others, some smaller. Some may be considered more valuable, some less. Some may require more time to clean out, some less. Some may have more trash than treasure, some may have more treasure than trash. We look at each estate individually and estimate accordingly. When purchasing an entire estate we will be responsible for the removal of trash and will leave the premises broom cleaned or vacuumed if necessary. When purchasing a partial estate we will charge for the rubbish removal or credit you towards the purchase price. In most cases we will provide a quote and contract up front to eliminate any confusion or overbilling. If an agreement is made and a contract signed work may begin immediately that day.

Please do not attempt to clean out your estate by yourself because in the process you may unintentionally throw out valuables. That’s like throwing away money! We once spent 8 hours rummaging through a dumpster which is where most of the valuables were placed before we were called in to clean out the estate. We can make an appointment that is convenient for you, do a walk-through, give you a FREE estimate and help you decide which is the best route to liquidate your estate. The sooner you talk with us the faster you can get an empty estate onto the market. We are fully insured and offer our services for estates, individual homes, businesses, contractors, realtors and others.

Do NOT rent that dumpster until you've talked with us!

We will work with you to determine the best option for liquidating your estate. We will explain the options for choosing a buyout, cleanout, estate sale, consignment sale or auction sale if you are undecided. We offer full services for onsite estate sales, onsite tag sales and onsite auctions as well.

Your work is done once you sign the contract. All you need to do after that is take your check to the bank. We’re not happy unless you are happy!


Estate Buyouts

Estate buyouts should be considered when the seller needs immediate cash or the value of the items are determined to be marginal at best and pursuing another option would not be cost effective. Contents are purchased outright and are removed. The area is left broom cleaned.

Estate Cleanouts

Estate cleanouts should be considered when the seller needs the contents removed or the value of the items are determined to be marginal at best and pursuing another option would not be cost effective. Credit towards the cost of cleanout can be determined after a walk through assessment is made. Sometimes the owner may have some items of value which can be credited toward the cleanout cost. In most cases it doesn’t cost the owner anything to have the estate cleaned out and on some occasions we pay the owner a small fee to allow us to clean out their estate. This is similar to a partial buyout. We leave the area broom cleaned.

We also do general cleaning should you just need a garage, attic, basement, barn, shed, cupboards or closets cleaned out or tidied up. We clean, sort and organize for you and even take away the trash for one price. We can work by the hour or by a set fee, whichever is more convenient for you. As always we can give you a free estimate for this service. Your time is money. This service is well worth the convenience, time-saving and cost.

Onsite Sale

An onsite estate sale may be a viable option providing the amount and quality of contents, location and a suitable time lend themselves to this venue. An onsite estate sale can increase the financial value of the estate contents by selling directly to the end-user and due to the contents being considered fresh to the market. In the past we've found items such as a Civil War corp pin in a cigar box of trinkets. The pin sold for $700.00. After an initial free consultation we do everything from start to finish including sorting, cleaning, set-up, pricing, security, advertising, promotion, conducting the sale and clean-up. The same is done for an onsite tag sale in which case the owner is still living. We charge a 30% fee for onsite estate and tag sales.

Onsite Auction

An onsite estate auction may be a viable option when the amount and quality of contents, location, weather and time of year lend themselves to this venue. Usually an onsite auction can occur when the estate is a large farm or a country location with a large amount of household, primitive, rustic, and larger items. An onsite estate auction can increase the financial value of the estate contents by selling directly to the end-user and due to the contents being considered fresh to the market. After an initial free consultation we do everything from start to finish including sorting, cleaning, set-up, hiring, security, advertising, promotion, conducting the auction and clean-up. We charge a 30% fee for onsite auctions.

Consignment and eBay Sales

On occasion an item or a group of items may warrant the special effort of selling on consignment or on eBay. Those items will be placed under contract at a 30% commission. In 2005 we sold a rare tea cup and saucer online for $838.00!!! In 2007 we sold a 1914 cast iron baseball bank for $813.00.

Auction House Referral

In some cases your items can be consigned to an auction house. We wrap, pack and transport your items to the auction house where they are consigned for auction. Commission after sale will not exceed 30%.

Just need someone to take away your items free of charge? Most books, clothing, tools, household items, linens, toys and furniture in good condition can be taken away at no charge. Anna Q's Attic is committed to assisting several local non-profits with a donation or sale of these items.

Although one man’s trash is another man’s treasure we are not a free trash pick-up service. For some items we will give you credit towards the cost of the cleanout. We do not remove hazardous or medical waste. These items must be removed, or arrangements made to be removed, by the owner before we will accept an estate cleanout. We reserve the right to decline to offer our services for clean-outs for any reason.

Since contracts are based upon the contents of an estate after making an assessment, we strongly encourage the family to remove any items of sentimental value BEFORE we conduct a walk through of the estate. Once a contract is signed for the removal of the contents of the estate, we ask that nothing else be removed.

We can travel to most parts of Vermont and into New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts within a reasonable distance. We are computer savvy and utilize the web for maximum exposure for our onsite estate sales and auctions. We have an extensive mailing and email list of followers and buyers. Our shop is a hub for activity in the antique, collectible, vintage and gently used markets. We don’t just skim off the good stuff in an estate and leave you to deal with the leftovers. We are considerate of your needs and emotional and financial well-being. Our goal is to get you the most money for your items--it’s that simple!
